Upon arrival at Delhi airport, board a flight to Leh’s Bakula Airport, located at an altitude of 11,700 feet. Our tour representative will assist you with a transfer to your hotel. After completing the check-in formalities, take the day to rest and acclimatize to the high altitudes of Ladakh. In the evening, around 04:30 PM, visit the famous Shanti Stupa, a white dome-shaped Buddhist stupa located on a hilltop in Chanspa. Next, visit the Chowkhang Monastery, known for its fluttering prayer flags. Afterward, indulge in shopping at the local market of Leh, where you can find Buddhist masks, prayer wheels, Thangka paintings, and woolen items like Pashmina shawls, gloves, and sweaters. Overnight stay in Leh.
Today’s tour includes visits to the Royal Museum at Stok Palace, also known as the Stok Palace Museum, which offers insights into the heritage of the region. You will also visit the Thiksey Monastery, the largest monastery in central Ladakh belonging to the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism, and the Stagna Monastery, located on a barren mountain top offering panoramic views of the surrounding area. Another stop is the Changchubling Monastery, also known as Rizong Monastery, known for its strict monastic disciplines. Lastly, you will visit the famous Hemis Monastery, India’s wealthiest and largest monastery, which hosts an annual festival. Overnight stay in Leh.
After an early breakfast around 08:00 AM, embark on a road journey to Nubra Valley via the world-famous Khardungla Pass, one of the highest motorable passes at an altitude of 18,360 feet. Upon reaching the valley, set up your camps at the designated location. Later, visit the silver sand dunes near Hunder village and enjoy a memorable camel safari on the double-humped camels. Next, visit the villages of Diskit and Hunder, known for their monasteries and hot springs. Get a glimpse into the lifestyle of the locals. Overnight stay at the camp.
After a mesmerizing morning in Nubra Valley, leave early morning after breakfast. Visit the beautiful Yarab Tso Lake, also known as the hidden lake, which is surrounded by stunning landscapes. After sightseeing, drive back to Leh via Khardungla Pass. Upon arrival, check-in at a hotel and spend the evening leisurely walking in the Leh market. Overnight stay in Leh.
On the fifth day of the tour, leave early morning for Pangong Lake, located at an altitude of 4,400 meters. Drive eastwards from Leh, crossing Changla Pass at 17,500 feet, and passing through Durbuk and Tangtse villages in the Changthang region of Ladakh. Marvel at the scenic beauty along the way. Upon reaching, set up your camps near the lakeside. Pangong Lake is a unique lake that extends between India and China, and has been featured in the Bollywood movie “3 Idiots”. Enjoy the mesmerizing beauty of the brackish lake, which changes color with sunlight. Overnight stay at the camp.
Begin your day with an early start to witness the mesmerizing beauty of the Pangong Lake. Capture some stunning photographs of the surroundings before embarking on your drive towards Tsomoriri Lake, the largest lake in Ladakh located at an altitude of 15075 feet. Drive through Kharu and then head towards Moriri Lake, making a stop at the Chumathang Hot Springs en-route. Cross the Mahe Bridge and continue towards the breathtaking Tsomoriri Lake. Along the way, keep an eye out for Himalayan marmots. Arrive at the lake in the evening and check-in at the tented camp near the lake. The area around the lake is home to 34 avifauna species and has been declared a Wetland of International Significance under the Ramsar Convention in 2003. Spend the night in the camp, surrounded by the serene beauty of Tsomoriri Lake.
After an early breakfast, start your drive to Leh via Tsokar Lake. Take a halt to visit the Puga Geo-Thermal Gas Springs and explore the Nomadic Rebo tents at Polo-kongka pass. Continue your journey and stop by the Tsokar Lake, a wetland area, for some photographs. If interested, you can also visit the monastery in the tiny Thukje village. Arrive in Leh in the evening and check-in at your hotel for an overnight stay.
After breakfast, drive to Uley Resort from Leh. On the way, visit the Likir Monastery to see the grand statue of Maitreya Buddha and the Alchi Monastery known for its ancient murals and miniature paintings. Continue your journey and arrive at Uley. Check-in at the resort/hotel and take some time to relax and unwind amidst the scenic surroundings. Spend the night at Uleytokpo.
Get ready for an action-packed day! Start by visiting the region with Lunar landscapes, an area that resembles the terrain of the Moon. Next, explore the Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest and largest monasteries in Ladakh, known for its wall paintings, thangkas, murals, and ancient scriptures. Continue to the Rizong Nunnery, a residence for 40 monks, founded by the great Lama Tsultim Nima in 1831. Optionally, you can also take a day hike to Rizong village or go for a short hike to Gera-Lardo village across the Indus River. Overnight stay at Uleytokpo.
Start your journey back to Leh today. On the way, visit the Spituk Monastery, also known as Pethup Gompa, founded in the 11th century. Experience the natural wonder of Magnetic Hill or the gravity hill, and pay homage at the Military Hall of Fame, a museum and memorial dedicated to the war heroes managed by the Indian Army. Arrive in Leh in the late afternoon and enjoy some last-minute shopping at the popular markets of Leh. Overnight stay at the hotel.
In the morning, check-out from your hotel and get an assisted transfer to the airport to board your flight back to Delhi
